My client asked for a magical, peaceful scene full of the beautiful greens we get here on the West Coast of Canada and Pacific Northwest. A play of colour and light glimmering through the tress onto the sparkling creek below - it was such a joy to paint.

It's hard to explain, but this piece truly cracked my heart open. I had so much fun playing with colour and exploring my creativity in it. I could really begin to feel the years I've spent dedicated to my craft taking full effect - the intuition, the confidence, the trust in the process. There was such an ease and flow as I painted it, and I just knew deep down that it was unfolding into something special.
